Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with North Macedonian Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani yesterday in Washington, D.C. Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Osmani celebrated the occasion of the strategic dialogue between the United States- States and North Macedonia and the strengthening of bilateral relations in the face of the conflict on the European continent. Leaders underscored their strong cooperation within NATO and their partnership in preparations for North Macedonia’s OSCE Chairmanship in 2023. Secretary Blinken thanked Foreign Minister Osmani for the continued support of North Macedonia to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russian aggression. The Secretary reiterated U.S. support for North Macedonia’s early EU membership and regional economic integration, and underscored the importance of leadership in advancing political and economic reforms in the Western Balkans.
